Kim Jang-gyeom proposes bill on \'cyber wrecker\' victim relief, opening path to YouTube correction requests
South Korean lawmaker Kim Jang-gyeom (김장겸) has proposed an amendment to the Press Arbitration Act to create a relief process for damage caused by the spread of false information by so-called cyber wreckers such as YouTubers. The bill would expand the Press Arbitration Commission’s mediation and arbitration beyond traditional media reports to influential online information. Victims could demand corrections, rebuttals or follow-up information, or apply for mediation, with related civil rulings prioritised within three months.
