Hanwha Systems posts Q2 operating profit of 103.7 billion won, up 219 percent
Hanwha Systems posted second-quarter revenue of 1.12 trillion won and operating profit of 103.7 billion won, up 45 percent and 219 percent from a year earlier, on a consolidated preliminary basis. Net profit rose 14 percent to 52.7 billion won. Defense drove growth on large overseas export projects, while domestic mass-production programs and ICT system-build projects supported results. First-half revenue rose 32 percent and operating profit 109 percent, but net income swung to a loss.

Hanwha Philly Shipyard wins contract for U.S. \'Golden Dome\' missile defense support ship
Hanwha Philly Shipyard will build a key support vessel to be used in the United States\' \'Golden Dome\' missile defense programme. The U.S. Maritime Administration on July 17 announced the signing of a contract to build a sea-based missile test instrumentation vessel, or MRIV, at a naming ceremony for the fourth National Security Multi-Mission Vessel. The MRIV will be delivered in phases starting in 2030.

Kim Seung-yeon says securing core technologies including AI defense top priority
Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon said securing original technologies, including for AI-based defense, is the top priority and central to long-term competitiveness. In a 2026 New Year message, he cited intensifying global competition and called for efforts across all business areas. He urged full execution of MASGA plans centered on Philly Shipyard and deeper shipbuilding cooperation with the United States. Kim also outlined tasks for energy, materials, finance and services, reaffirmed a shared-growth principle and stressed safety first.
