UK FCA opens licence applications for crypto firms, existing operators also subject to review
Britain\'s Financial Conduct Authority has begun accepting applications for authorisation from crypto businesses ahead of a regulatory framework due to take effect on Oct. 25, 2027. Crypto firms that want to keep operating in Britain must apply by the end of February 2027, with the FCA aiming to complete reviews before the new regime starts. The rules broaden oversight beyond anti-money laundering and financial promotions to cover stablecoin issuance, trading platforms and market abuse prevention.
