MSIT to spend 46.1 billion won on international cooperation R&D in 2026, expand talent recruitment
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held its first 2026 committee meeting on science and ICT internationalisation on Jan. 29 and approved seven agenda items, including the 2026 implementation plan. The ministry plans to 추진 international cooperation R&D focusing on national strategic technologies such as AI, quantum, materials and semiconductors, with about 330 new tasks worth 46.1 billion won. It also aims to strengthen full-cycle support to attract and settle overseas talent, launch research security support projects, and bolster participation in Horizon Europe and a Korea-led multilateral research programme.
