Daesang to work with Dongsung Chemical on corn starch biodegradable packaging
Daesang said on Wednesday it signed a contract with Dongsung Chemical to jointly develop starch-based compostable materials and products. It plans to develop biodegradable packaging using thermoplastic starch based on corn starch. The goal is to develop logistics air cushions and film for food packaging using its own thermoplastic starch by 2027. The company said its thermoplastic starch obtained four certifications from Germany\'s DIN CERTCO in 2025.
