NongHyup launches expert-led reform committee
NongHyup said on Jan. 21 it had formally launched a reform committee after holding its first meeting a day earlier at its headquarters in central Seoul. The committee has 14 members, including 11 external and three internal members, and elected Lee Kwang-beom (이광범) as chair. It will serve as a platform to discuss structural reform and organisational improvement, and will meet monthly, with the next meeting set for Feb. 24.

Kang Ho-dong\'s NongHyup reform plan criticised as cosmetic
NongHyup chairman Kang Ho-dong issued a public apology and unveiled a reform plan after an interim special audit by the agriculture ministry cited alleged wrongdoing and weak internal controls. Kang Hodong, NongHyup chief, apologises amid misconduct row, vows overhaul
NongHyup chairman Kang Hodong said on Jan. 13 he would seek to restore public trust after the interim results of a special audit by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. He issued a public apology and announced plans to overhaul the organisation and improve systems. Kang said he would resign from posts he held concurrently by convention. Key executives said they would voluntarily step down. NongHyup will form a reform committee and revise rules, including overseas lodging limits.
