Bitcoin lawsuit targeting suspected Satoshi holdings draws first anonymous holder response
An opposing party has emerged in a New York lawsuit over ownership of long-dormant bitcoin holdings worth more than $200 billion, including coins widely believed tied to Satoshi Nakamoto. A pseudonymous respondent, John Doe 33, filed a notice to appear and said he would answer the case. Plaintiffs seek ownership of about 3,799,000 bitcoin linked to 39,069 inactive addresses under New York’s abandoned property law. The dispute centres on whether inactivity can legally indicate loss or abandonment.
