South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Federation of Korean Science and Technology Societies selected Yonsei University Underwood Distinguished Professor Cheon Jin-woo as the 2026 recipient of the Korea Top Scientist and Technologist Award. The presidential award, first presented in 2003, has recognised 48 winners through last year. Cheon was credited with pioneering nanomedicine and developing nano-magnetogenetics enabling wireless, remote control of neurons in living animals. He will receive a presidential citation and 300 million won in prize money on July 7.
