Draft amendment to enforcement decree of Personal Information Protection Act put up for public comment
South Korea\'s Personal Information Protection Commission will put a draft partial amendment to the enforcement decree of the Personal Information Protection Act up for public comment from June 2 to July 13. The move follows revisions to the law taking effect on Sept. 11. The draft details which personal information processors must obtain board approval and report to the commission when appointing, changing or dismissing a chief privacy officer, and sets reporting procedures and timelines. It also specifies ISMS-P certification obligations, breach-risk notice requirements and fine standards.
