Japan to set up dedicated white hacker team to counter AI-based cyberattacks
Japan will set up a specialised white hacker team in November to respond to AI-based cyberattacks, aiming to find and fix vulnerabilities from a hacker’s perspective. The unit will be installed at the Information-technology Promotion Agency (IPA) under the jurisdiction of the economy ministry and others, and will carry out AI-backed penetration testing. The government has also warned industry groups about a major PHP vulnerability and plans steps to bolster small business security.
