Tech industry steps up alliance as fears grow over AI misuse in hacking
Concerns are growing that cyber attackers could misuse increasingly advanced AI. AI model developers are moving to provide new models on a limited basis to selected companies, including security firms, to help prepare for cyber attacks. Anthropic launched Project Glasswing to let chosen companies use its Claude Mythos Preview for security purposes and said rivals, including OpenAI, could join. OpenAI also plans restricted early access for a security-focused model.

Naru Security, Viaweb launch zero trust hosting for SMEs
Naru Security said on Sunday it signed an MOU with hosting service company Viaweb to develop a “ZeroTrust Hosting” model for small and midsize enterprises. The companies aim to let firms with limited security budgets and staffing receive cyber threat detection and analysis from the hosting infrastructure layer without adopting separate security solutions or running dedicated teams. They also agreed to work on joint development and operations, data collection and threat analysis support, and joint sales and marketing.

Predictive security models hit limits as shadow AI SaaS risks rise
Security companies are issuing reports on cyber threat trends, and two drew attention this week from Rapid7 and Grip Security. Rapid7 said defenders are finding it harder to keep up as attackers weaponise disclosed vulnerabilities within days, leaving little time to patch. Grip Security warned that AI embedded in SaaS applications can create risks outside enterprise control, and a breach of one AI-enabled app can spread across other AI environments and potentially to other organisations.
