Nexon co-CEO Kang says real competitiveness in AI era is time built with users, not technology

Kang Dae-hyun (강대현), co-CEO of Nexon Korea, said competitiveness is shifting from technology itself to “context” as AI makes implementation cheaper and easier. He cited a surge in game supply on Steam and the concentration of player time in older titles. Kang said lasting advantage comes from accumulated taste, judgment and user relationships that cannot be fully transferred as data, and from compounding effects when in-game experiences spread into communities and creator content.

Nexon NDC 26 opens; Lee Jung-heon says user understanding is competitiveness in AI era

Nexon opened its game development knowledge-sharing event, the 2026 Nexon Developers Conference (NDC 26), on June 16 at the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation in Seongnam. Marking its 19th edition, the conference features 51 sessions across nine areas including AI, IP, blockchain trends and global cases. Nexon Japan CEO Lee Jung-heon said competitiveness in the AI era comes from understanding and empathising with users.
