KT, KISTI launch 400Gbps Korea-U.S. research network, quadrupling capacity
KT has built a 400Gbps national science and technology research network linking South Korea and the United States, expanding transmission capacity fourfold from 100Gbps. KT said it opened South Korea’s first 400Gbps single dedicated international line with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information. The link connects KISTI’s headquarters in Daejeon with Chicago and is intended to reduce delays and capacity shortages when exchanging large research datasets.

Nutanix launches Nutanix Enterprise AI 2.8
Nutanix said on Aug. 27 it has officially launched Nutanix Enterprise AI 2.8 and plans to release Nutanix Kubernetes Platform 2.19. It said the products expand Nutanix Cloud Platform capabilities, allowing AI, containerised applications and virtualised workloads to be operated and managed securely with governance under a consistent control plane. Nutanix also unveiled new incentives, programs and resources for partners, including a new Powered by Nutanix: Verified Services program.

Cisco, Nvidia add Supermicro servers to Secure AI Factory
Cisco will add Supermicro servers to the Secure AI Factory it operates with Nvidia, tech publication Techzine reported on Aug. 25. The first shipment is scheduled for October. The added system uses a high-density GPU configuration and allows companies to run AI clusters and non-AI workloads in the same environment. Cisco also introduced rack-and-fabric liquid cooling combining its liquid-cooled AI networking system with Supermicro liquid-cooled servers.
