U.S. SEC commissioner predicts Clarity Act passage this summer as crypto regulation may accelerate

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Commissioner Hester Peirce predicted that the Clarity Act, aimed at establishing a crypto regulatory framework, could pass this summer. The bill has cleared the House and awaits Senate action. Peirce said it would create federal oversight for the crypto spot market and divide authority between the SEC and the CFTC. SEC Chair Paul Atkins also signaled a pro-market reform agenda and a shift toward supporting digital-asset innovation under U.S. law.

Government steps up drive for physical AI full stack localisation

The government plans to localise physical AI full stack technology and expand its applications to manufacturing, agriculture, defence and caregiving. The Ministry of Science and ICT unveiled a strategy to build a cross-government data collection and use system and develop key technologies such as physical AI foundation models and world models. It also plans to develop specialised devices, networks, security and AI chip-based computing platforms, and to support investment, talent and standards and certification systems.

BNK Financial forms 50 billion won productive finance strategic fund

BNK Financial Group is launching productive finance investment to foster strategic industries in South Korea’s Southeast region and nurture local innovative companies. The group said it has completed the formation of the 50 billion won BNK Productive Finance Strategic Fund and will begin full-scale investment. The fund aligns with Chairman Bin Dae-in’s second-term management direction and serves as a group-level investment platform.
