South Korea retirement pension assets top 500 trillion won, guidebook due in second half

South Korea\'s retirement pension assets topped 500 trillion won for the first time last year, reaching 501.4 trillion won at end-2025, up 16.1 percent from a year earlier, according to a white paper released on Tuesday by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Financial Supervisory Service. The annual return was a record 6.47 percent. They said they plan to publish a retirement pension guidebook in the second half.

Mirae Asset Securities pension assets top 70 trillion won, up 61 percent in a year

Mirae Asset Securities said its pension assets exceeded 70 trillion won as of April 20, reaching 70.1 trillion won. That was up 26.6 trillion won, or about 61 percent, from 43.5 trillion won a year earlier. Retirement pension balances rose to 45.8 trillion won from 30.1 trillion won, while personal pension balances increased to 24.3 trillion won from 13.4 trillion won. The company cited client performance and global asset allocation.

Kakao Games adopts non-inclusive wage system, to pay overtime separately

Kakao Games has revamped its wage system by introducing a non-inclusive wage scheme from this month, the industry said on Wednesday. The company scrapped its previous fixed overtime arrangement on April 1 under a wage bargaining agreement with its labour union. Under the new system, overtime, night and holiday work allowances are not included in annual salary in advance and will be calculated and paid separately based on actual hours worked.
