Anthropic tops growth in enterprise AI tools while Microsoft 365 leads install base

Anthropic recorded the fastest growth in the enterprise AI tools market, while Microsoft 365 had the largest number of enterprise accounts, an Okta analysis showed. Using anonymised access data from more than 20,000 companies from June 2022 to June 2026, Okta compared growth by net increases in corporate accounts. The findings also showed companies increasingly using multiple AI platforms at once, combining different services by work purpose rather than relying on a single platform.

Synology launches DP5200 backup appliance with AI-based security, support for large workloads

Synology said on Tuesday it has launched the 1U ActiveProtect Appliance DP5200 and expanded its ActiveProtect lineup targeting data-protection demand from small and medium-sized businesses. The company said the DP5200 combines workload management and AI-based security features in a compact design. It supports up to 36TB and includes ActiveProtect Manager enterprise backup functions. It supports virtualisation platforms, physical infrastructure, SaaS apps and databases, with additional platforms to be added in APM 2.0.

Microsoft begins using in-house MAI for some Word, Excel AI responses

Microsoft has started applying its in-house MAI model to some AI responses in Word and Excel. TechCrunch reported that the company is reducing its reliance on OpenAI and Anthropic software in part to cut costs and is increasing use of its own models. Microsoft said its MAI model responds to a certain share of user prompts, while it continues using OpenAI and Anthropic models and expands work on its own AI agents.
