Race for stablecoin payment infrastructure heats up
Competition among cryptocurrency and fintech companies over stablecoin payment infrastructure is intensifying. Tether launched Plasma and Circle introduced Arc, presenting blockchains dedicated to payments. Circle also released an Arc testnet, while Stripe-backed Tempo launched a mainnet for fast stablecoin payments. The firms are also expanding through acquisitions, including Bridge for $1.1 billion, wallet infrastructure company Privy and payments platform Metronome.
