Tether invests $20 million in Argentina neobank Uala
Tether has invested $20 million in a $197 million funding round by Argentine neobank Uala, Cointelegraph reported. Uala disclosed Tether’s participation when it announced the round in March but did not reveal the amount, the report said. The round was led by Allianz X, and Bloomberg reported Tether’s investment was $20 million. Tether has also expanded investments in Latin America.

Tether invests in Mercado Bitcoin to expand blockchain finance in Latin America
Stablecoin issuer Tether has invested $20 million in Brazilian cryptocurrency platform Mercado Bitcoin. Mercado Bitcoin plans to use the funds to expand blockchain-based financial services across Latin America, including tokenised finance, stablecoin payments and lending. The company said it has more than 4.5 million users and has issued more than 2 billion Brazilian reais in tokenised assets, about $370 million. Tether issues USDT worth $184 billion and posted about $1.04 billion in net profit in the first quarter of 2026.
