OKX Europe CEO says 80 percent of unlicensed MiCA exchanges to exit after July 1
OKX Europe CEO Erald Ghoos warned that 80 percent of crypto exchanges that are not authorised under the EU’s MiCA regime will not survive. The European Securities and Markets Authority will ban unauthorised firms from serving EU customers from July 1. Ghoos said 60 percent of European crypto users rely on platforms without MiCA authorisation and most of them have no way to obtain approval.

Malta proposes DeFi rules including DAOs under MiCA framework
Malta\'s Financial Services Authority has begun work on a regulatory framework for decentralised finance that includes decentralised autonomous organisations, according to a Cointelegraph report. The authority published a discussion paper on June 12 under the EU\'s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation and will accept industry feedback until July 10. It proposes recognising DAOs as a type of software-based organisation and separating rules for organisations from regulation of underlying protocols and software.

France moves to clear out unlicensed crypto firms as MiCA deadline nears
Crypto companies operating in France without authorisation may have to stop local business if they fail to secure a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) licence by June 30, local time. The French financial markets regulator AMF has demanded that firms lacking approval by the deadline begin procedures to leave France or shut down. AMF head Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani said firms must prepare wind-down plans to transfer customers and settle assets and services.
