KOSPI jumps more than 5 percent early, buy sidecar triggered for 15th time this year
South Korea\'s KOSPI jumps more than 5 percent in early trade, extending the previous session’s gains, and a buy-sidecar is triggered to halt program buy orders for five minutes. At 9:10 a.m., the index is up 4.86 percent to 8,882.88 after rising as high as 8,968.53. Individuals and institutions are net buyers while foreigners are net sellers. Chip stocks including SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics lead gains. The won weakens against the dollar.
