China tightens export controls on 10 U.S. defence and rare earth firms
China has blocked exports of dual-use items to 10 companies, including U.S. rare earth producers, widening the U.S.-China technology rivalry into critical mineral supply chains. The move, announced by China’s commerce ministry, bars Chinese firms from exporting related items and restricts third-country transfers of Chinese dual-use goods to the listed companies. The sanctions include MP Materials and USA Rare Earths, raising worries over supplies needed for AI infrastructure and semiconductors.
