Robotaxi interior is not a private space, industry reworks seating and surveillance design
A proposal has been made to curb disruptive or improper behavior in driverless robotaxis by changing interior design and adding digital warning systems. Researchers discussed ways to deter misconduct in shared autonomous vehicles at a workshop in Sweden, focusing on the risk that the absence of a driver can create a false sense of privacy. Suggested measures include more open cabin layouts and AI assistants that warn riders about monitoring.
