Broadcast media commission, culture ministry expand support budget for regional, small broadcasters 2.5-fold
South Korea’s Broadcast Media Communications Commission and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said on Jan. 27 they will strengthen support this year for regional and small media outlets’ digital transformation and content production. The two set a 20.2 billion won budget for regional and small broadcasters, 2.5 times the previous year. The culture ministry also increased funding for local newspapers, including proposal projects, planned reporting support and digital reporting equipment rentals.
