IBM, Arm form AI alliance to run Arm software on Z, LinuxONE mainframes
IBM and Arm are starting a strategic collaboration to run Arm-based software on IBM enterprise systems, The Register reported on Wednesday. The move aims to meet rising demand for AI and data-intensive workloads. The companies will work toward dual-architecture hardware development, combining the reliability, security and scalability of IBM Z and LinuxONE with Arm’s power-efficient computing and software ecosystem. The partnership will focus on virtualization, performance and efficiency, and shared technology layers across platforms.
