Korean game companies roll out Chuseok holiday events with login and mission rewards
Major South Korean game companies are rolling out Chuseok holiday events that combine login rewards with missions and event dungeons. Many promotions add experience boosts, hot-time periods, dedicated dungeons and exchange shops to support play and character growth during the holiday. Nexon, NC, Netmarble, Com2uS, Pearl Abyss, Neowiz, Mgame and Gravity announced events across dozens of titles, offering limited items, in-game currency, costumes and other rewards.

NCSoft still undervalued despite earnings rebound; spotlight on Aion2 global launch
NCSoft is expected to extend earnings improvement in the second quarter on the back of Lineage Classic’s strong performance, wider direct payments and consolidation of JustPlay, analysts say. The market consensus calls for 681.2 billion won in revenue and 129.4 billion won in operating profit. Despite the rebound, securities firms put its forward 12-month PER at around 11. Investors are focused on whether Aion2’s September global release will prompt a valuation re-rating.

NCSoft loses first-instance copyright lawsuit against ROM; court says elements are in realm of ideas
NCSoft lost a first-instance lawsuit seeking to halt alleged copyright infringement by Kakao Games and RedLab Games over the MMORPG ROM: Remember Of Majesty, the legal community said. The Seoul Central District Court ruled that major elements NCSoft cited from Lineage W, including transformation, enhancement, item collection and PvP systems, fall in the realm of ideas rather than protected expression. The court also rejected NCSoft’s unfair competition claim and dismissed all requests.
