Coupang says no payment info leak or secondary damage confirmed, rebuffs civil groups\' complaint
Coupang on Feb. 23 denied claims by People\'s Solidarity for Participatory Democracy and Lawyers for a Democratic Society that secondary damage occurred after 7 suspected unauthorized payment cases were reported to a Coupang victim-reporting center. Coupang said a joint government-private investigation team and a security company found no leak of payment information or passwords, and no secondary harm has been confirmed to date. It said one case referred to police was a normal payment from a previously used device.

AI future planning senior secretary, National AI Strategy Committee hold AI policy meeting with civic groups
South Korea\'s National AI Strategy Committee said on Sunday it held a meeting with the presidential office\'s senior secretary for AI future planning to hear civil society views on overall AI policy. The meeting focused on the AI Framework Act and an AI action plan, including impacts on rights, safety and democracy. Participants called for ongoing communication with civic groups, early establishment of AI ethics principles and policies that benefit all citizens.

Lee names Kim Jong-cheol as first Broadcast Media Telecom Panel chief
South Korean President Lee Jae-myung appoints Yonsei University law professor Kim Jong-cheol as the inaugural chair of the Broadcast Media Telecom Commission. The presidential office also announces the selection of lawyer Ryu Shin-hwan as a presidential member of the seven-member body. Lee additionally appoints Kim Yi-tak as first vice minister at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport after the previous vice minister resigned over inappropriate remarks related to real estate prices.
