Bank branches to open at 9:30 a.m. from April as hours cut by 30 minutes
The Korean Financial Industry Union and the Financial Industry Employers\' Association have reached a tentative industry-wide deal to cut bank branch operating hours by 30 minutes and raise total wages by 3.0 percent. Under the agreement, branches will open at 9:30 a.m. from April next year, while closing time remains 4 p.m. The deal also includes flexible start times, measures linked to early Friday departures, expanded childcare leave eligibility and extended work-hour adjustments.
