MSIT opens call for AI-based virtual convergence industry fostering project
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Wednesday it will accept applications through March 27 for its \"AI-based virtual convergence industry fostering\" project. The programme aims to spur AI transformation by combining AI with virtual convergence technologies across industrial sites and daily life. It will select six tasks, three each in industrial and everyday-life fields, and provide about 700 million won or 600 million won a year per task. Applicants must form consortia and maintain services for at least one year after completion.

NIA to hold briefing on AI-based digital twin services for safety management
South Korea\'s National Information Society Agency and the Ministry of Science and ICT will hold a briefing on Feb. 11 for a 2026 project call on AI-based digital twin services for safety management, the agency said on Sunday. The project, launched for applications on Feb. 3, aims to minimise disaster damage by using AI and digital twin technology to enable early responses to safety accidents and strengthen public safety. It plans to support six tasks with up to 6 billion won in state funding.

South Korea science ministry seeks bids for AI, digital twin project to build digital safety system
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT plans to build a digital safety system that combines artificial intelligence and digital twin technology to predict and prevent risks in daily life. The ministry and the National Information Society Agency will accept applications for an AI-based digital twin programme in safety management until March 10. The government will select six tasks across three safety fields and provide about 900 million won per task.
