Crypto.com will cut 12 percent of its workforce, or about 180 jobs, as it pushes AI integration, The Block reported. CEO Kris Marszalek said on X that companies that do not adopt AI will be left behind. The company has made three large rounds of layoffs since 2022. Gemini announced 200 job cuts. Block cut 40 percent, while Messari also reduced staff. The Algorand Foundation announced a 25 percent cut.

Crypto.com has launched a new IRA product for U.S. investors that allows them to hold stocks and cryptocurrencies at the same time, The Block reported on March 3. The product is accessible through the Crypto.com app and offers traditional and Roth IRA options. Investors can hold stocks, ETFs and more than 400 cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin and ether. Some tokens can generate rewards via staking or lockup programs, which are taxed in the year received.

U.S. government gives conditional approval to Crypto.com for bank trust charter
Crypto.com has received conditional approval from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency for a national bank trust charter, Cointelegraph reported on Feb. 23 local time. The approval gives the company a basis to provide custody services across the United States under federal regulators\' supervision. The company filed its application with the OCC in October and plans custody services for digital asset treasury operations and exchange-traded funds.
