Hancom supplies Hancom Assistant to Korea Western Power
Hancom said on Sunday it supplied its AI document-writing solution, Hancom Assistant, to Korea Western Power. The company said it integrated the tool into Korea Western Power’s generative AI chatbot, WeepyBot, to build a companywide smart document drafting environment. Korea Western Power conducted a proof of concept with Hancom from October 2024 and decided to adopt it this year after about 15 months of verification.

MSIT holds working-level body on data safe zones, discusses steps to boost use
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held its 2026 working-level consultative body on data safe zones on May 11 to discuss measures to improve access and promote use of previously undisclosed data. The meeting brought together 16 organisations, including 11 operators and five institutions selected for new designation. The ministry plans to support selected institutions with up to 200 million won each. Agencies also presented cloud linkage and consulting plans.

South Korea pushes N2SF incentives to encourage public sector adoption
The South Korean government is moving faster to offer incentives aimed at encouraging public institutions to adopt the National Network Security Framework, or N2SF. Measures include new bonus points in public agency management evaluations, changes to cyber security inspections and a 4.5 billion won support programme led by KISA. Officials say inquiries have shifted from how to adopt the system to how to proceed and join demonstrations, though adoption remains voluntary.
