KB Financial expands solidarity finance to support growth of social enterprises
KB Financial Group is expanding support for the growth of social enterprises through solidarity finance, it said on Tuesday. It highlighted the KB Social Investment Fund, formed in 2018, as a key vehicle. The fund totals 232.6 billion won and has invested a cumulative 188.5 billion won in 148 companies. KB Financial is also increasing support for regional solidarity economy firms and social ventures, including a 3 billion won commitment to the Co-Prosperity Cooperation Fund.

NH Nonghyup Bank signs interest-subsidy loan deal to cut financing costs for social enterprises
NH Nonghyup Bank said on Tuesday it signed an agreement with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund to promote an interest-subsidy programme for social enterprises. The loan product is scheduled to be launched in February. Borrowers can obtain a guarantee certificate through the credit guarantee fund and then apply for a loan from the bank. The loan limit is up to 300 million won.

Woori Bank backs social economy firms to help vulnerable groups in local communities
Woori Bank said on Jan. 28 it announced companies selected for the 2025 Woori Impact Challenge contest, run with the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, and delivered a total of 130 million won in grants. The contest aims to find and nurture firms that create social value. It targets social enterprises and related organisations operating for more than 2 years. Ten firms were selected after evaluation.
