KT to apply post-quantum cryptography security to defense systems
KT said on May 19 it will apply post-quantum cryptography to key South Korean defense systems through a 2026 pilot programme led by the Korea Internet & Security Agency with the Ministry of Science and ICT. The project aims to address security threats from advances in quantum computing and to apply and verify cryptography resistant to future quantum attacks on national core infrastructure. KT will run demonstrations with the defense ministry and the Army Information and Communications School.

CJ Group employee information leaked on Telegram for three years, company prepares to report to authorities
CJ Group has confirmed that personal information of its employees was leaked via Telegram and is preparing to report the case to investigative and related authorities. Industry sources said names, ranks, mobile phone numbers and photos of about 330 female employees were circulated through a public Telegram channel opened in May 2023, with about 2,800 participants. Some posts included an intranet access URL and details such as work location and hours.

MSIT holds cybersecurity workshop based on OpenAI TAC
South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said it held an AI security hands-on workshop with OpenAI on May 18, joined by several government bodies and related institutions. OpenAI’s Sasha Baker explained the Trusted Access for Cyber programme and demonstrated cybersecurity functions of the latest AI models. The ministry asked OpenAI to share information and cooperate on responding to AI security threats, and both sides agreed to continue working-level discussions.
