Hanwha Q Cells begins full-scale commercial validation of perovskite tandem
Hanwha Solutions\' Q Cells division, Hanwha Q Cells, said on Sunday it will take part as the lead institution in a government research and development project to develop and demonstrate tandem module technology combining perovskite and crystalline silicon. The three-year consortium research aims to demonstrate commercial-area tandem modules of at least 1.7 square metres with module efficiency of 28 percent or higher. Hanwha Q Cells will also conduct outdoor demonstrations and business feasibility analysis and targets commercialisation in 2029.

Shinsung E&G undertakes three national projects in offshore, recycling and low-temperature processes
Solar company Shinsung E&G began work on a 12.9 billion won national project on durable offshore-environment solar modules, aiming to move early in the floating solar market. The 36-month project runs from April 2026 to March 2029 with 9.0 billion won in government funding and about 3.9 billion won in private contributions. Shinsung E&G is also carrying out national tasks on RFID-based AI lifecycle history management for module recycling and low-temperature processes for perovskite tandem crystalline cell modules.

South Korea science ministry to pursue superconductor technology development, aims for self-reliance by 2035
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it will pursue a strategy, including global cooperation, to secure superconductor technology by 2035. It plans to strengthen R&D, build an industry-academia-research cooperation system, expand regional research infrastructure and work with leading global institutes. Plans include building a 16-tesla superconductor conductor test facility at Korea Institute of Energy Technology and launching joint research with CERN, while advancing high-temperature superconductor development.
