Mideast war fallout raises packaging burden for food industry; government to support green shift
South Korea\'s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is stepping up support for food companies as raw material prices rise and supply becomes unstable due to the war in the Middle East. The ministry said surging naphtha prices are raising production costs and could disrupt packaging supplies. It will provide information on alternative eco-friendly packaging materials and support testing and safety verification. It also plans a joint logistics system for firms in the National Food Cluster.
