Korea media watchdog orders removal, blocking of 1,081 suggestive adult webtoon ads
South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media Communication Deliberation Committee ordered the removal and access blocking of link advertisements that use sexually suggestive images to draw teenagers to adult webtoons. It voted on June 8 to take action against 1,081 ads circulated indiscriminately on social media, blogs and community sites without measures to restrict youth access. The committee said the move aims to protect teenagers and urged industry self-regulation.
