Sensor Tower says 4X strategy genre overtakes MMORPG to top South Korea mobile game revenue
Sensor Tower said the 4X strategy genre has risen to No. 1 in revenue in South Korea\'s mobile game market, surpassing MMORPGs. It said January revenue for 4X strategy topped $70 million, marking the first time it led. MMORPGs had held the top spot for 9 years. Sensor Tower pointed to Whiteout Survival and Last War: Survival, new titles such as Last Z and Kingshot, and aggressive advertising and live-ops as drivers.
