Kakao union says Hong Min-taek CPO exit shows collapse of accountable management
Kakao’s union said on Monday it issued a statement criticising the sudden resignation of Chief Product Officer Hong Min-taek as a collapse of accountable management by the company’s leadership. The union said excessive working hours, a worsening organisational culture and disputes over performance-based rewards arose during his tenure amid aggressive projects including the “KakaoTalk Big Bang Project”. It said management offered no responsible explanation and called the resignation a “quiet exit” that avoided accountability.
