IRIS operations to move to KISTI; four R&D support systems to be integrated next year
Operations of the Inter-ministerial Integrated Research Support System, IRIS, will be transferred from the Korea Institute of S&T Planning and Evaluation to the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, the government said. The science ministry plans from next year to integrate four major research support systems, including IRIS, Ezbaro·RCMS and NTIS, and to introduce AI-based research administration support services. The transfer will proceed in stages through mid-next year.

MSIT publishes \'Survival Manual for the Age of AI Agents\'
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Tuesday it published a manual outlining how AI agents could affect society and how policy should respond. Based on the 2025 technology impact assessment, it analyses effects on daily life, the labour market, education, democracy and national security. It also includes key issues and policy proposals raised in a citizen forum and survey involving experts and the public.

South Korea identifies 3 national strategic technologies in display, secondary batteries and quantum
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Evaluation and Planning said on Monday they had confirmed three technologies in the display, secondary battery and quantum sectors as national strategic technologies in the first 2026 review round. The confirmation system determines whether technologies held, managed or under development qualify. A panel of industry, academic and research experts reviewed 38 technologies in this round.
