Stablecoin supply growth stalls amid regulation and Treasury yields
The stablecoin market appears to have entered a plateau after rapid growth. Jimmi Shiu, co-founder of Axis, said tighter U.S. and European regulation has reduced institutional issuance and rising U.S. Treasury yields have diminished the advantages of holding stablecoins. Stablecoin supply, which more than doubled from 2024 to 2025, has stalled at around $310 billion since October 2026. The market has not recovered amid ongoing selling pressure and conservative investor sentiment.
