KB Kookmin Bank consortium picked as preferred bidder for Jeonbuk offshore wind project
A consortium involving KB Kookmin Bank has been selected as the preferred bidder for the Jeonbuk southwest offshore wind public project in South Korea. The project will first develop 800 MW of a planned 2.5 GW offshore wind complex in waters off Buan, North Jeolla Province, under a public-led model in which public institutions hold at least 50 percent. KB Kookmin plans to provide financial advisory services and arrange project financing.

IBK Investment Securities appoints Choi Kwang-jin as new CEO
IBK Investment Securities appointed Vice President Choi Kwang-jin (최광진) as its new chief executive officer and president, it said on Monday after holding an extraordinary shareholders meeting and a board meeting. The company said it plans to strengthen competitiveness based on support for small and venture businesses and consumer-focused management. Choi, born in 1965, joined Industrial Bank of Korea in 1992 and held a series of posts before serving as COO at IBK Investment Securities.

IBK Industrial Bank of Korea to step up 1.35 trillion won support for National Growth Fund this year
IBK Industrial Bank of Korea said on Monday it approved 1.35 trillion won in support for advanced strategic industries and related ecosystems in 2026 as part of its plan to participate in the 10 trillion won National Growth Fund. Of the total, 850 billion won will go to corporate investment and 500 billion won to infrastructure. The bank plans to provide venture capital tailored to innovative small and venture firms and invest in energy and strategic industry infrastructure.
