South Korea ranks 12th in generative AI usage, fastest growth among major economies
Microsoft think tank AI Economy Institute released a report on global AI diffusion, using anonymised telemetry data to measure generative AI use among people aged 15 to 64. Global usage rose to 18.8 percent in June 2026 from 17.8 percent in the first quarter. South Korea’s share climbed 3.5 percentage points to 40.6 percent, ranking 12th worldwide and posting the biggest increase among major economies for a third straight time.
