Vietnam\'s Green SM launches electric taxi service in Los Angeles, challenging Uber and Lyft
Vietnamese mobility company Green SM, linked to electric vehicle maker VinFast, has launched an electric taxi service in Los Angeles, marking its first entry into North America. CleanTechnica reported the service started a day earlier, making the United States its ninth market after expansions in Asia and Europe. Green SM will deploy VinFast VF8 electric SUVs, initially with 500 vehicles and 500 drivers, and will hire drivers as full-time employees while owning and managing its fleet.
