AI company Anthropic is moving to secure large-scale computing infrastructure, driving shifts in power demand, the data centre market and the bitcoin mining industry. It has obtained about 3.5 gigawatts of next-generation Google TPU capacity through Broadcom, with roll-out from 2027. As mining profitability weakens, miners are selling bitcoin and repositioning as AI infrastructure providers through long-term hosting deals. The shift could also affect the bitcoin market and network hashrate.
