Tether takes 8.2% stake in Antalpha, expands bitcoin mining finance investment
Tether has secured an 8.2 percent stake in bitcoin mining finance platform Antalpha, becoming a major shareholder. A U.S. filing shows Tether holds 1.95 million shares through affiliates, with chairman Giancarlo Devasini sharing voting and disposal authority. Antalpha provides bitcoin-backed loans and mining equipment financing and had a loan portfolio of about $1.6 billion at end-2024. Tether has been widening investments across mining, AI, financial services and tokenised assets.

Tether takes 12 percent stake in Gold.com to expand gold-backed stablecoin
Tether has acquired a 12 percent stake in Gold.com for $150 million to expand in the gold-backed stablecoin market, Cointelegraph reported on Thursday. Tether plans to integrate its gold-linked stablecoin XAUt into the Gold.com platform and work to allow customers to buy physical gold using USDT and its U.S.-market stablecoin USAT. Gold.com sells precious metals including gold, silver and platinum.
