MSIT steps up support for deep tech firms in R&D zones to expand globally

MSIT steps up support for R&D special zone firms, expands Global Boost Up
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Wednesday it newly selected 60 outstanding companies based in R&D special zones for support under the Global Boost Up programme, aimed at helping them enter North American and European markets. After strengthening global IR and commercialisation capabilities domestically, the companies will receive support from the second half of this year to identify customers and carry out overseas proof-of-concept projects through local programmes.

MSIT to invest 167.3 billion won in R&D special zone fostering projects this year
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Tuesday it will fully launch its 2026 programme to foster research and development special zones as key regional hubs for deep-tech startups and to build a full-cycle growth system for technology entrepreneurship. Total investment in 2026 will be 167.3 billion won, up about 51.2 billion won, or 44 percent, from the previous year. The ministry will expand funding for commercialisation, scale-up and overseas expansion.
