Tesla halts Model 3 orders in Canada amid China-made EV quota issue
Tesla has stopped taking orders in Canada for the Model 3 Premium, saying it has used up its import quota for China-made electric vehicles. Canadian government figures, however, show about 67 percent of the annual quota still available. Only the Model 3 Performance all-wheel-drive variant can be ordered. The halted Model 3 Premium is made at Tesla’s Shanghai plant and was launched in May at C$39,490.
