Zhipu builds 1-GW AI data centre using only Chinese-made chips; shares surge 37 percent

China\'s AI company Zhipu completed a 1-gigawatt AI computing centre run only on Chinese-made chips, South China Morning Post reported. The facility will be used to train and run inference for its GLM large language model series. Zhipu\'s Hong Kong-listed shares jumped 37 percent to close at 121.9 Hong Kong dollars. The company is also reported to have acquired Qubilas, an infrastructure software firm spun off from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
