AWS launches Lambda microVM, supports running isolated containers for up to 8 hours
AWS has added microVM capability to its serverless platform Lambda, based on its lightweight virtual machine technology Firecracker. The feature extends Lambda\'s execution limit from 15 minutes to up to 8 hours and lets developers upload Dockerfiles and application files to Amazon S3 for conversion into Firecracker snapshots. AWS said the feature can support isolated code execution for security checks and AI safety use cases, with usage-based per-second pricing.
