Korea Exchange steps up AI shift, rolls out AI for disclosure and market measures

Korea Exchange is accelerating its AI shift by applying AI technology to key capital-market tasks after acquiring AI startup FairLabs. The exchange said it is introducing AI to listed-company disclosures, market measures and its index business. It is using AI to capture important information in real time from large volumes of news and to support review and verification processes for disclosures and market measures. It also plans to automate parts of industry classification management for index development.

Korea Exchange acquires AI startup FairLabs in first M&A in 70 years

Korea Exchange said on Monday it has acquired AI-based data analytics startup FairLabs, marking its first merger and acquisition in its 70-year history. KRX said it invested 6.7 billion won to secure a 67 percent stake and become the largest shareholder. The exchange plans to use FairLabs\' unstructured data analysis technology to strengthen its index and data business, develop new index products and progressively apply AI to market surveillance and management.
