LG Display posts Q3 operating profit of 250.6 billion won, down 42 percent on year
LG Display said on Oct. 22 it posted third-quarter consolidated revenue of 6.277 trillion won and operating profit of 250.6 billion won. Revenue rose 12 percent from the previous quarter and operating profit swung to a profit from a loss. From a year earlier, revenue fell 10 percent and operating profit declined 42 percent, which the company attributed to reduced shipments of mid-sized LCD products under a profitability-focused portfolio strategy.

LG Display develops \'FLiPP\' OLED process without cutting glass substrate, seeks first use in IT panels
LG Display is pushing to apply a maskless OLED pixel-forming process to IT panels, citing limits of fine metal masks on larger substrates and costs. The company unveiled its in-house FLiPP technology at an online seminar, saying it uses photolithography to form RGB pixels and can raise aperture ratio to 65% from 42%. It also aims to use uncut 8th-generation glass to improve yield efficiency. The mass-production timeline is undecided.

Samsung Display, LG Display unveil next-generation OLED technologies at IMID
Samsung Display and LG Display showcased next-generation OLED technologies at IMID 2026 in Busan on Aug. 19, unveiling advances such as a wide-view foldable OLED and a large stretchable display. LG Display introduced FLiPP, a maskless pixel patterning method that it said improves aperture ratio and can raise brightness, extend lifespan or cut power use. Both companies won IMID’s display awards, and Samsung Display presented 57 technical papers.
